Payment Policy

1. General

The following Payment Terms & Conditions outline our procedures for booking, payment, refunds, cancellations, and other related terms for our services. You agree to these terms and conditions. Your consumer rights are described below.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any of your statutory rights under consumer protection law.

2. Booking Learn Chess Academy Services

Our educational programmes are delivered as term based activities, paid up front. Tournaments are periodic competitions over a day, and Camps are sequential day events treated as programmes.

Term and programme fees reserve a place for your child on a structured educational programme and are not fees for attendance at individual sessions. Online tutoring may be individual or programmes. We offer a trial “taster” session, one per customer, to demonstrate what makes our way unique.

3. Consumer Cancellation Rights

For bookings made remotely (for example, by email, telephone or online), parents have cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, replacing the ‘Distance Selling Regulations’. Usually parents have a 14-day cooling-off period beginning the day after the booking is confirmed. If a programme or event has not started, a parent may cancel within this period and receive a refund.

Where a parent requests that a programme begins during the cooling-off period, services may commence immediately. If cancellation occurs after services have begun, a charge will be made.

4. Missed Sessions and Withdrawals

A child's place remains reserved throughout the programme whether or not individual sessions are attended. For this reason, missed sessions, holidays, voluntary absences and withdrawals after programme commencement are not (normally) refundable, but see Credits, below.

4. Credits

In exceptional circumstances, we may at our discretion offer a programme credit. Credits offered:

- are a goodwill arrangement;

- have no cash value;

- may only be applied to the next available programme;

- do not create any entitlement to future credits;

5. Provider Changes and Disruption

Where sessions are affected by venue issues, weather, safety concerns or circumstances outside our reasonable control, we will seek to provide an alternative. Where no reasonable alternative can be provided, an appropriate refund or credit may be offered.
