For Parents
1. General
At LearnChess Academy, we prioritise your child's safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment. Here's everything you need to know about our sessions.
2. Online Safety
Our online Chess Coaching Platform is like a gated community. Access is restricted exclusively to members, ensuring a secure and safe environment for your child. No external users can enter or interact within our protected virtual sessions.
3. Arrival & Pick-up
For our independent Junior Chess Clubs and external events, please ensure your child is accompanied to the door, where they'll be greeted by our team. We take safeguarding seriously, so a responsible adult must be present at drop-off and pick-up times. Parents or guardians are welcome to stay during sessions (space permitting), wait outside, or return at session end. Children will only be released to recognised adults, guaranteeing their safe return home.
4. What to Bring
Students are encouraged to bring snacks, packed lunches, and refreshments or a water bottle. To maintain a focused learning environment, any toys and collectible cards should be left at home, though fidget toys for concentration or stress relief are permitted.
5. First Aid & Emergencies
Chess is generally very safe, but we're always prepared. All Lead Coaches are CPR trained. In the unlikely event of an accident or emergency, our first step is to always contact the parent or guardian immediately. This is why we request an emergency contact number during registration.
6. Fun & Learning Guaranteed
We pride ourselves on providing engaging, fun, and memorable chess experiences. Our approach ensures students not only develop a deep appreciation and love for chess but also acquire valuable life skills they'll cherish forever.
